How to pick Home theatre receiver for speakers? - receiver deals

I Insignia 200-watt speakers. There are five in number, each with 30 watt satellite speakers and subwoofer 50 watts. I am looking for a suitable receiver to my speakers. Anyone familiar with the knowledge to connect 5.1-channel system? How can someone say if I use a 500 or 1000 watt amplifiers use for me if I have a good business. Thanks
